while time is flying I'm just ageing

It's been 6 months to the day since I last wrote anything on this blog (although I have blogged on the travel site since then) and lots has happened. I blame most of my lack of communication on the fact that someone stole my computer (and camera - AGAIN!) from my house in SheBu and so I had no-where to write. Of course this is code for me saying that I have been too lazy to write at all however I certainly have been thinking about writing for a while - and for those who know me that's almost as good as me doing it.

I have 30 minutes till I need to be on a train and I haven't even left the house yet or got dressed - in fact my clothes are still in the washing machine on spin.

I rarely get "feelings" about days. For example I don't ever have an oppressive sense that a day is oing to be really bad. Today however I have this notion that today is going to be a bit of a debacle. I think it might be more to do with lots of people all going to the same event with no plans, direction or source of leadership. It's gunna end in tears.

I just finished reading my friend's blog who wrote about the septaganarian he found splayed naked on all fours in his communal gym showers. People are weird. Moreover I think it strange that he decided to illustrate the act - as though we can't all just picture our grandparents in the same said position. I dont shudder -I have the body of a 70-something as well - but I am bemused at the thought that gyms these days still have communal shower areas. Perhaps I am going to the wrong/right gyms?

Aside from re-blogging I have also started watching West Wing again thanks to my boss who has lent me the whole of Series 6 on DVD. Is it wrong to be in love with a fictional character? CJ quite possibly is the epitome of sexual intelligence. Sigh (more for my inability to have the words to describe her etherial quality than for my crush on CJ).

The full Scottish breakfast

Looks English to me but in their every continuing struggle for independence the Scots added some haggis. Tasty!

bean bags

Fruzsi's friend bought this very expensive beanbag. was very comfortable. But not so when i had to help carry it home via the mean streets of London... a la...

I was in a movie theatre tonight seeing quite a funny film. Everyone was laughing along together until there was (what I thought) quite a funny line where one woman said sarcastically to the other "What, were you abused as a child?". I laughed out loud. The rest of the cinema - stoney silence. I felt betrayed. Everything was going along so well until then, now I'm the freak in the theatre who thinks child abuse is funny. But, I swear it WAS funny. Fruzsi said she thought it was funny but she's "not a laugh-out-loud kind of person". Damn her! Now a group of random individuals in London, who I will never see again and who never saw my face (they just heard my cackle) think I'm a freak. I may never live it down...

that OJ Simpson has never been able to account for his whereabouts at the time of all the Jack-the Ripper murders?
